OAK ISLAND — Robert Stirling Morris, age 88, of Canterbury, Connecticut and Oak Island, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022.
He was born in East Providence, RI on June 12, 1933, to the son of the late, Robert B. Morris and Agnes Stirling Morris also was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Kathleen Y. Cameron.
Mr. Morris was a member of Ocean View United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict also a member of the Marine Corps League. Robert Lived in Star Bridge, Massachusetts and raised his family there for many years and was a former Boy Scout Leader. He was a Registered Architect and taught at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts. Surviving is his wife, Carolyn J. Morris of the home; a son, Robert B. Morris and wife, Anne of Riverside, RI; two daughters, Susan B. Morris of Southbridge, MA and Karen M. Desrosier and husband, Charles of Lake Wales, FL; a sister, Patricia Spaid and husband, Fred of Harleysville, PA; ten grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Jared, Beth, Jonathan, Ryan, Lindsey, Shannon, Grady, and Sevonah; sixteen great-grandchildren.
At the request of the family no local services are planned and services in Canterbury Ct will be held at later date.
