WILMINGTON — Douglas Edwin Miller, 81, passed away at the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center on January 10, 2022.
He was born in Whiteville, NC on June 12, 1940 to Dr. Warren Edwin Miller and Edna Webster Miller.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his son Warren Edwin Miller II.
He is survived by his former wife, Roxana and their children Scott Miller, Player Murray and husband Jim, grandchildren Gage Miller, James Murray, Thomas Murray, Ana Player Murray, and his brother Bruce Miller and wife.
Doug attended Whiteville High School and graduated from Presbyterian College where he was commissioned into the US Army. He served in Germany as a tank commander and remained in the reserves until retiring with the rank of captain. He was a vice president of UNCNB mortgage throughout the Southeast until he started Miller Homes Inc. in Wilmington. He also maintained a real estate broker license for more than 35 years.
Doug was an avid hunter and fisherman and was an active member of St. Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church.
A service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, January 19th at St. Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church.
