WILMINGTON — Amanda Lynn Stroup, 43 of Wilmington, NC left us too soon on October 19, 2021. She was a caring woman, loving mother, and a best friend. Amanda lived to help everyone else around her and loved her family above all else. Always proud of her three beautiful children – Dustin, Katelyn, and Lily. Amanda was a strong, fierce, stubborn, but determined woman who lit up the room with her beautiful smile and big brown eyes.
Raised on the family dairy farm (Stroup Dairy Farm) in Charlotte, NC to John and Lynn, Amanda grew up with three brothers – John, David, and Brian. Even surrounded by brothers, she was tough and learned to fix things on her own. She loved teasing her brothers about how well she could milk the cows and who was the favorite child. Amanda went on to earn her BS in Accounting and real estate license while raising her children and working full time. Her kind, caring nature complimented her work in the healthcare industry. She enjoyed her days off by making crafts, sewing, projects with her children, decorating for the holidays, and gardening.
Amanda is survived by her best friend and fiancé, Todd Edd; children, Dustin Nguyen, Katelyn Nguyen, and Lily Edd; parents, John Stroup Jr. (Daphne), Lynn Price (Steve); grandmother, Hazeline Stroup; brothers, John Stroup III (Leigh), David Stroup (Rachel), and Brian Stroup (Karly); precious nephews, nieces, many other loved family members, and friends. Amanda was proceeded in death by her grandparents, John Benjamin Stroup Sr., Dorothy Cochrane Sossamon, and Lt. Col. James Fred Sossamon, Jr.
Visitation will be held at 2:00 pm with a Funeral Service to begin at 3:00 pm Sunday, October 24 at Andrews Mortuary Market Chapel, 1617 Market St, Wilmington. The family will receive friends after the service at the home of David and Rachel Stroup.
