WILMINGTON — Mr. Larry Herbert Farmer, 73, died Monday, Aug. 9, 2021. He was born April 14, 1948, to William Benjamin Farmer and Beatrice “Bea” Batts Farmer (Almond) in Rocky Mount.

Larry was a Rocky Mount Blackbird, where he thrived in theater. He was a career soldier in the U.S. Army, where he served as a medic in Vietnam, an E.R. nurse, and a training and design writer. Larry was a member of Ogden Baptist Church, where he served and was loved by many. Larry was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Prince Hall affiliated, being Past Master of Giblem No. 2 and Assistant Grand Chaplin of the State of North Carolina.

Larry was preceded in death by his father; brother, Steve Farmer (Laura Sue); and son, Andrew Logan.

Larry is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife, Joyce Guzman Farmer; mother; brother, Bobby Farmer (Bonnie); sister, Patricia Whitley (Perry); brother, Danny McCoy (Nadine); daughter, Lori Jackson (Jimmy); daughter, Charity Miller (Michael); daughter, Tiffany Mims (Ray), and Melody Guzman (Skyler), Keith Williams (Kristin) and Jennifer Williams; grandchildren, Micah Miller (Brittany), Jason Miller (Missy), Ambur Young (Joey), Cheyenne Mallett, Mackenzie Hatcher, Jenna Jackson, Diana Miller, Britteny Mallett, Ronald Mallett, Delaney Corneilson (Ben), Carly Williams, Caleb Williams, Samuel Williams, Hayden Williams, Lilly Williams, Eli Williams and Noah Williams; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 19, at Andrews Mortuary Chapel, 1617 Market St., Wilmington, where friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of services. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Montford Point Road, Jacksonville.
