WILMINGTON — Eugene Maitland Stains, 90, passed away Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021. He was born Aug. 30, 1930, to Jeane Theresa (Jensen) and William Joseph Stains in Kearny, New Jersey.

Eugene served in the Korean War aboard the USS Colahan in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged. He worked in drafting for PSEG and was an OTR driver for Vandoran Oil & Gas on the weekends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dianne Stains Johnson.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Kay Dianne (Eigner) Stains; son, Michael Stains (Carol Reyes) of Eyota, Minnesota; granddaughter, Katie Reyes Murray (Ronald Murray) of Poughkeepsie, New York; great-
grandchildren, James Eugene, 16, MacKenzye Lin, 10, Cassandra Joyce, 8, and Lyiam Joseph, 8; nieces, ErinSipley, Gloria Banach; and nephew, Richard Carbone.

The family would like to thank North Chase Nursing and Rehab, Right at Home Caregivers and Wilmington Hospice Care for their care of Eugene.
