Reginald Geyler ‘Reg’ Reeks

CAROLINA SHORES — Reginald Geyler “Reg” Reeks, 91, passed away Friday, July 30, 2021.

He was born in East Orange, New Jersey. He was preceded in death by parents, Reginald and Ethel Reeks, and is survived by his wife, Margaret “Marge.” They moved from Omaha, Nebraska, to Sunset Beach in 1993, and later resided in Carolina Shores. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

Mr. Reeks is also survived by four children with his late first wife, Marian, Deborah (Brian) Koswick of Malta, New York, Robert (Julie) of Omaha, Margaret (Tim) Streff of Omaha, and Jeffrey Reeks of Bellevue, Nebraska; and 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He also leaves a sister, Rosalie Vernon of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, and Sunset Beach.

His career included six years with Allstate Insurance, 22 years with Junior Achievement (J.A.) and five years with the American Association for Clinical Immunology and Allergy. Following his retirement, Mr. Reeks joined the “JA Pioneers,” a group comprised of retired J.A. executives and staff personnel. Mr. Reeks was a member of the Shriner’s Club, Elks Lodge, American Legion, VFW and served in various leadership positions.

Mr. Reeks always enjoyed being near the ocean. His earlier interests included coaching youth sports and hunting. He later enjoyed social gatherings, writing, reading, puzzles, sports, and producing musical C.D.s for friends and family.

A private, family memorial service will be held in Omaha.
