WILMINGTON — Bennie “Harold” Woods, 75, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021.

Harold was born Oct. 17, 1945, in Wilmington to Bennie Shirley Woods and Vena Mae Woods, who preceded him in death.

Harold retired as police chief of Carolina Beach and deputy chief of Federal Point Fire Department. He loved NASCAR, running heavy equipment, woodworking and animals. He was a gentle giant.

Harold is survived by his partner of 28 years, Janet Alexander; daughter, Beth Marcucilli, and her husband, Anthony; grandson, Kendall Marcucilli; stepson, Shawn Frye; grandsons, Sabian, Xander; and granddaughter, Halo.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Thursday, April 8, at Coble Funeral & Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A celebration of life service follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
