WILMINGTON — Dorothy Kerr Cox, 84, died Friday, Feb. 12, 2021, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice. She was born March 22, 1936, in Cherokee County, Texas, to William Herbert Kerr and Ola Norton Kerr.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Lisa Cox Sanders; seven sisters, Louise, Lucille, Verline, Mary Ann, Leora, Lenora and Betty Jo; and three brothers, Reese, Sam and Michael.
She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Cox Strickland, and her husband, Larry Strickland; grandchildren, Stacey Buehler Pinkham, and her husband, Richard, Brett Buelher, and his wife, Kristin, Brandon Strickland, and his fiance, Bianca, and Laura Strickland; and great-grandchildren, Alexandra (Allie) Fletcher, Lucy Pinkham, Dixon Pinkham and Jayden Harrelson.
Dorothy was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and attended the Sunset Park Congregation, Wilmington. A virtual memorial service will be held at 5 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 20, via Zoom.
