Gale Ganey Morgan

LELAND — Gale Ganey Morgan, 78, passed away peacefully in her sleep Monday, Feb. 1, 2021, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice after a recent series of medical setbacks following a hip replacement.

Originally from Leland, she resided in Wilmington and Kernersville before returning to Leland, where she eventually retired from Almont Shipping. Family and faith were the core of her being; her love of both formed the guiding principles of her life. She served as well as volunteered in various positions and committees at Sunset Park Baptist Church, Wilmington, and Edgewood Baptist Church, Winston-Salem.

An outgoing personality, Gale loved nothing more than spending time and laughing with family and friends. Gale’s mind was always inquisitive and curious about the world around her. This curiosity manifested itself in a love of travel throughout the United States with her husband, Cam. Gale was an avid reader, gardener, amateur chef and always wanted to try something new.

She was preceded in death by her parents, “Billy” and Vera Ganey; as well as her sons, Jeff and Josh.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Cameron Morgan of Leland; and her remaining son, Joel Morgan of Cary.
