
WILMINGTON — God took Connie Leigh Arnette, 74, one of His beautiful angels, to her heavenly home Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021.
Connie was born Feb. 9, 1946, in Conway, South Carolina, to the late Vernon Ivey Leigh and Mary Alma Jones Leigh. She was also preceded in death her sister, Julia Faye Leigh.
Connie leaves behind two sons, Dale Anthony Suggs (Tricia) and Jerry Bryan Arnette Jr.; two granddaughters, Kristin Koliadko and Kelly Reithmeyer; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Vernon Ivey Leigh (Ginny) of Leland and Scott Leigh (Kristin) of New Port Richie, Florida; special niece, Susanne Wallace of Riegelwood; and special nephew, Christopher Ivey Leigh of Williamsburg.
Connie retired as a systems analyst with the North Carolina Ports Authority. She had her own woodworking shop, where she built beautiful wood cabinets and furniture. She was also a craftswoman.
Connie was a faithful member of Sunset Park Baptist Church, where she loved her friends and loved serving her Lord.
A visitation will be held from 1 to 1:45 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 6, at Sunset Park Baptist Church followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. The Rev. Hugh Folds will officiate. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Robert Pridgen, Ken Butler, Morris Powell, Christopher Leigh, David Lewis and Jeff Lewis.
