WILMINGTON — John Charles Schuellain Jr., 84, passed away Monday, Dec. 21, 2020, at NHRMC, Wilmington.
He was born March 6, 1936, in Elmont, New York, to the late John Charles Schuellain Sr. and Frances (Biesterfeld) Schuellain.
John, an avid golfer, was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved spending time with his family, especially around the holidays. John, the former owner of Relay-Tulain Plumbing and Heating, was dubbed “The Mayor” by his neighbors in his community because he never met a stranger and all were friends.
John is survived by his wife, Lorraine Mazzara; sons, Ronald Schuellain, and his wife, Roseann, Jason Mazzara, and his wife, Geeta, and Raymond Dyer; daughters, Debbie Craig, and her husband, Lawrence, Joanne Green and Jennifer Baxter, and her husband, Travis; sisters, Joan Stefan and Betty Wendel; grandchildren, Ashley Baxter, Travis Baxter Jr., Jonathan Baxter, Malia Baxter, Dylan Mazzara, Ella Mazzara, Elizabeth Mazzara, Angelina Mazzara, Julie Miner, Kevin Craig, Steven Craig, and his wife, Nicolette, and Jillian Schuellain; and great-grandchildren, Kalie Miner, Rhya Miner and Roman Miner.
In addition to his parents, John was also preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Bullis.
A private memorial service will be held in John’s honor at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made in John’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
