Nancy H. Daileda DiFabio, enjoyed fishing on the Cape Fear River

Nancy H. Daileda DiFabio

Nancy H. Daileda DiFabio went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2022. She passed in her home after a long struggle with cancer in the company of her dear friend, Sheryl Temoney.

Born in 1941 in Pennsylvania to Edward and Eleanor Daileda, she was preceded by her beloved husband, Vincent DiFabio.

As a child, she loved to ride horses and water ski. In her later years, she loved to fish and would often be found on the dock in River Park on the Cape Fear River. However, her greatest love was to go to church. No matter how much pain she was in, it was her delight to go to her Father’s house to worship, sing praises and listen to the Sermon.

She would make friends almost instantly. Stories are told of how someone would go to help her and end up making a friend. She was the kind of friend that would, however, not hesitate to tell you what was on her mind and if there was something you should be doing (or not doing).

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 17, at Silver Lake Baptist Church, 4715 Carolina Beach Road, Wilmington. Due to the current crisis, there will be no food served. Her ashes will be scattered in the ocean she loved.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the cancer research fund or church of your choice in her memory. Please direct any inquiries to Charles Hett (910) 612-7076.

Share online condolences with the family at Coastal Cremations.
