WILMINGTON — Carolyn Faye Pope Ward, 86, passed away Friday, July 12, 2019, at Northchase Nursing and Rehab Center.
Carolyn was a lifelong resident of Wilmington. She was a sewing machine operator throughout her life while working in the textile industry. Her love of music was shared with her husband, Harlie, and she enjoyed watching game shows, especially “Wheel of Fortune.” She was a lifelong member of Federal Point Pentecostal Church.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Harlie Dillon Ward; and son, Jerry Wade Ward.
Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Linda Von Cannon and Cathy Head, and her husband Charles; two granddaughters, Samantha Brumley and Sarah Samaras; four great-grandsons; and brother, Harry Pope.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 16, at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
