SUPPLY — Jerry Wayne “Hawk” Ashworth, 52, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Hawk was born Nov. 18, 1966, in Sanford, the son of Mary Margaret Ashworth and the late James Ashworth. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Amber Faye Ashworth.
Hawk had a special way that warmed the hearts of everyone who knew him. The qualities that made him the wonderful person he was have left us all with many beautiful memories as well as broken hearts. He was one of a kind and will truly be missed.
Survivors include his wife, Angie Ashworth of Supply; son, Jerry Wayne Ashworth of Ellerbe; stepdaughter, Davie Hawks of Supply; stepson, Gage Branham of Fayetteville, West Virginia; mother, Mary Margaret Ashworth; two sisters, Linda and Barbara; two granddaughters, Alley and Macey; and a host of friends and beach family.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 7, at Ellerbe Town Cemetery, Ellerbe.
