Carolyn Jones King, 65, faithful member of Northside Baptist Church

WILMINGTON — Carolyn Jones King, 65, a lifelong resident of Wilmington, won her fight over liver and kidney disease Friday, April 26, 2019. She is now in the arms of Jesus and catching up with her momma and many other loved ones who have gone before her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Jones, Rosella and James Gray; and brother, Alan Jones.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, James “Bo” King Jr.; children, Serena Bell (Ervin) and James King III (Keri); three siblings, Keith Jones, Cindy Jones and James Gray Jr.; her Nanny’s darlings, Gabrielle, Landen and Logan Goodson and Brooke King; Jacob and Jody Norris II; sisters-in-law; along with many nieces and nephews.

Carolyn retired from the Wilmington Star News in 1998 after 21 years and then went to work for Liberty Home Health Care from 2001 until 2013.

She was a faithful member of Northside Baptist Church. She had some amazing friends, especially her Sunday school class ladies. They loved on her when she was not feeling her best and took opportunity to fellowship together when she was having a good day.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 30, at Andrews Market Street Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, at Northside Baptist Church, 2501 N. College Road, Wilmington. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
