Henry Stanley ‘Hank’ Sikorski, 96, carpenter and master wood craftsman

WILMINGTON — Henry Stanley “Hank” Sikorski, 96, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019, at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center.

He was married to his wife Mary for more than 50 years. They resided in Uniondale, New York, until she passed away in 2002. Hank was a resident of Cypress Island, Wilmington, since 2005.

He was a carpenter and master wood craftsman and had worked at Sperry on Long Island, New York, form more than 35 years.

Hank was the loving father to son, Gary (deceased 2015), and daughter, Sharon Gilbert; and adored grandfather of Lynsey Ledoux.

He was a World War II veteran who proudly served his country in the Navy stationed on LTS 619.

A generous, kind, sweet and humble man, Hank could magically create just about anything from a piece of wood.

A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Thursday, April 25, at Immaculate Conception Church, 6650 Carolina Beach Road, Wilmington, followed by a brunch at Gulfstream Restaurant, 78 Myrtle Ave., Carolina Beach.
