CURRIE — Judy Lavana Neal Underwood, 75, wife of the late Walter Lee Underwood, died Saturday, April 13, 2019, peacefully at home surrounded by family.
Mrs. Underwood was born April 12, 1944, in Wilmington, daughter of the late Leslie William Neal Sr. and Dorothy Lee Skinner Neal.
She was a Christian woman who loved the Lord, spending her time being a homemaker and a very beloved mother sharing her amazing gifts of talent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. She was a self-made artist, seamstress, painter, portrait artist, jewelry maker and writer. She not only shared her talent, but also a heart filled with a love so genuine.
Surviving are her children, Sherry Underwood Little of Currie, Angela (Harold) Gore of Johnsonville, South Carolina, Sonny Lee Underwood of Currie and Walter Lee Underwood of Wilmington; and 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m., Thursday, April 18, at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
