WILMINGTON — Heaven gained an angel Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, when Irene May Morgan, 71, went to be with the Lord with family by her side. She was born May 7, 1947, in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, the beloved daughter of the late Anthony Festa and Verna J. LaPointe.
She attended Minnechaug Regional High School and worked as a waitress for many years. Irene loved to read her Bible, always had a positive attitude and enjoyed laughing with her siblings. She was loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her and her presence in our lives will be greatly missed.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Morgan. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Ryan, Verna Mieltowski and Audrey Ryan; brother, Anthony Festa Jr.; sisters, Fiorentina Lucy Closser and Jeannine Kneeland; grandchildren, Theresa Beynor, Kenneth Mieltowski, Chantel Ryan, Casandra Ryan and Nathan Ryan; great-grandchildren, Brianna Beynor, Akurah Laury, Benjamin Labeau, Fenix McCarthy, Hunter Smith and Hayden Smith; niece, Kristina Closser; nephews, Shawn Kneeland and Ricky Kneeland; and cousins, Karen Martin and Mark Festa.
A celebration of her precious life will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 828 Church, 6934 Market St., Wilmington.
