WILMINGTON — Alan Steven Cohen, 61, of Wilmington and Lady Lake, Florida, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center.
He was born June 11, 1957, in Brooklyn, New York. His brother, Lawrence Cohen, preceded him in death.
Alan was a retired martial artist and restaurant entrepreneur, and more recently, an Insurance Broker with Burns & Wilcox for commercial business.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Mackie-Cohen; son, Jason Robert Cohen; sister, Monica Cohen; beloved mother-in-law, Norma Mackie; sister-in-law, Ellen Mackie; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 22, and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Andrews Valley Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 24, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.
