
WILMINGTON — Margaret King Flynn Vinson, 93, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
She was born Jan. 31, 1925, in Wilmington to Erby King Sr. and Minnie Beasley King. Margaret graduated from New Hanover High School in 1942 and worked in the printing business, Shoe Shak on College Road and McColl & Associates for seven years.
She married in 1942 and had two children, Louise Flynn McColl and Bernard King Flynn Sr., both of Wilmington. She has three grandchildren, Katie Flynn, Bud Flynn and Sean Flynn; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Johnny Lambert and Hollis Vinson; and brother, Erby King Jr.
She loved three special kin people, John, Rose and Mark Cook; and special family members, Janet Monterose and Mike, Amanda Baker and family and the love of her life, “Buddy” McColl, who never left her side for nine years.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, at Andrews Market Street Chapel. The family will receive visitors at 1 p.m. prior to services. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Mike Baker, Spence Broadhurst, John Cook, Ken Hooks, Ed McMahon and Bill Saffo. David Jones will be serving as honorary pallbearer.
