Frances Beverly Carlisle, 82, homemaker who was formerly employed with CATO

ASH — Frances Beverly Carlisle, 82, and her husband, Leroy Carlisle, died Friday night, Feb. 16, 2018, as the result of an automobile accident.

Mrs. Carlisle was born Aug. 1, 1935, in Conway, S.C., a daughter Henry Malcolm Beverly and Juanita Frances Holmes Beverly. She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Linda Sellers. A homemaker for many years, she was employed at CATO.

Mr. Carlisle was born Feb. 27, 1938, in Brunswick County, a son William Layton Carlisle and Annie Bell Plott Carlisle. He was a retired electrician, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the North Carolina National Guard, and a member of Shallotte Masonic Lodge No. 727, A.F. & A.M. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Doreen Outlaw and Annie Ampero.

They leave a legacy of great faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and genuine compassion and generosity toward others.

Surviving are their son, Leroy “Lee” Carlisle Jr., (Dee) of Ash; daughter, Theresa Smith (Steve) of Little River, S.C.; Mrs. Carlisle’s sister, Betty Jane Alford of Conway, S.C.; and two grandchildren, Joshua Steve Smith and Karmen Caroline Smith (Michael).

A funeral service honoring their lives will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Beach Assembly of God Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the Carlisle residence, 2290 Whiteville Road NW, Ash. Burial will be held in Griffin Cemetery with Mason rites accorded for Mr. Carlisle.
