ST. JAMES — Janice Renee “Jan” Owens, 67, passed away Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCare Center in Wilmington.
Jan was born Aug. 5, 1950, daughter of the late Victor Reynolds and Mary (Clayton) Reynolds. She worked as an executive with Prudential Property and Casualty Insurance Company for many years. Jan was a kind, loving lady who always had a great outlook on life and held such a contagious smile. She loved animals and enjoyed painting, golf and playing Mah Jongg. In her spare time, she enjoyed volunteering at Greenland Farms as well as Dosher Hospital.
Survivors include her loving husband of 33 years, James “Jim” Owens; as well as a brother, David Reynolds of Reston, Va.; sister, Pam Rajpal of Belmont, Mass.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 8, at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service Chapel in Southport.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to The American Cancer Society or to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
