Ms. Linda Ann Autry’s work here is done. She received a call and an offer that she could not refuse and will now be rejoicing with family and friends, while watching over those she left behind. Her new mission takes her to a place where love, laughter and no pain will always be guaranteed, though she will be missed and always loved by many. She died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017.
Ms. Autry was born April 10, 1952, in Wilmington, the daughter of Nila Ann Autry and the late George Edward Autry. She was a registered nurse for over 30 years.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her two daughters and one son-in-law, Shannon Nichole James, and her husband, Shane Walker, of Leland, N.C., and Kellie Ann Todd of Burgaw, N.C.; six grandchildren, Gianna and Marissa Stubbolo and David Walker of Leland, N.C., and Sterling Lee, Trevor Welsh and Bailey Todd of Wilmington, N.C.; two sisters, Sheila Autry Caulder of Wilmington, N.C., and Cindy Marie Autry of Carolina Beach, N.C.; three nieces and four nephews; along with several cousins and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her daddy, George Edward Autry; and beloved daughter, Tracy Dawn Lee.
Linda was funny and fearless, but most importantly, loved the Lord with everything in her. With her last breath, it thundered and a few rain drops fell, she truly rode the storm out.
Memorial services will be conducted in her honor at 5 p.m., Friday, Aug. 25, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel with the Rev. Billy Cooper officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the home of Shannon James, 2081 Lapham Drive, Leland, following the service.
