
NORWOOD — Christopher Scott Thomley, 27, formerly of Wilmington, passed away Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017. He was a compassionate and loving son with a heart of gold. He will be missed greatly.
Born April 2, 1990, he is the son of Roy Lee “Buddy” and Lois White Thomley.
He was employed at Piney Point Golf Club in Norwood. Chris loved music, the beach, hiking on Morrow Mountain, fishing and water skiing. He had a great sense of humor with a beautiful smile for everyone.
Chris was preceded in death by his loving grandparents ,Margaret Ponds of Rockingham and Roy and Melba Thomley of Wilmington.
In addition to his parents, Chris is survived by Buddy and Patty White, uncle and aunt of Rockingham; Barbara Tavano and Renee Jones, aunts of Wilmington; Denise Hord, uncle of Kannapolis, N.C.; and special friend, Kassandra Valle of Albemarle.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 16, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 17, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel with the Rev. Chuck McKnight officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
