WILMINGTON — Sue Ellen Paschall, 86, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017. She was born Oct. 5, 1930, in Evergreen, N.C., to Boyd and Ada Benton.
She is survived by her three daughters, Cynthia, Teresa and Katheryn; two sons-in-law, Jack and Brad; and six grandchildren Gabriel, Jared, Megan, Caitlin, Hannah and Abby.
Her father, Boyd; mother, Ada; sisters, Martha and Julia; and longtime significant other of 28 years, Roy, preceded her in death.
Sue Ellen was a longtime resident of Wilmington. She graduated from New Hanover High School in 1948 and worked at Fleishman’s fine clothing store for over 25 years. She was an active member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church for over 40 years. She loved cooking, gardening and attending her bible study classes with her friends. She took pride in being the matriarch of her family and her most important role in life was as a nurturing and most loving mother and grandmother.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 12, at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at 3:30 p.m. in Lafayette Memorial Park, Fayetteville, N.C.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 1401 S. College Road, Wilmington, NC 28403, would be appreciated.
