WILMINGTON — Ashley Ann Bell, 34, passed away at her home Friday, June 30, 2017.
She was born June 23, 1983, in Metairie, La., where she resided until 2005 when hurricane Katrina struck. She then settled in Wilmington, where she worked as a waitress. She enjoyed riding her bike around town and waving to everyone she passed.
Ashley loved meeting new people and always greeted them with a warm, friendly smile. Ashley also spent many evenings on the beach watching the sunset while the moon would rise.
She is survived by her mother, Diane Wibel Champagne; brother, William J. Champagne; half-sister, Rachel M. Bell; stepmother, Sue Bell; two stepbrothers; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Allen Bell; grandparents, David O. Wibel, Mary Nadine Usner Wibel, Katherine Bell and Kenneth K. Bell Sr.
A service to celebrate Ashley’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, July 14, at the Kingdom Life Church, 4825 Randall Parkway, Wilmington. Friends are welcome to attend the service and join the family for refreshments at Ashley’s mother’s home following the service.
Memorial contributions made to the Wilmington Funeral Chapel to assist the family would be great appreciated.
