Joe Charles Bethea, 80, retired terminal superintendent with AMACO Oil Terminal

WRIGHTSBORO — Joe Charles Bethea, age 80, of the Wrightsboro Community, passed away Friday, Nov. 25, 2016.

Joe was born on Nov. 29, 1935, in Dillon, S.C., to Charles Bethea and Rachel Lane Bethea.

Joe was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired as the terminal superintendent from the AMACO Oil Terminal in Wilmington. He was a longtime, faithful member of Wrightsboro Baptist Church. Joe was proud of earning the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.

Joe is survived by his wife, Jean Pressley Bethea; daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Donnie Gore; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Howard Peters; one grandson, Dillon Gore; and three nephews, Scott, Todd and Chuck Kirkland.

A celebration of life memorial ceremony will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at Wrightsboro Baptist Church. The family will see friends one hour prior to the service.
