WILMINGTON — Hilda Jernigan Horrell, 78, of Wilmington, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 23, 2016.
She was born in Columbus County, N.C., on Sept. 23, 1938, to the late Randle and Zera Jernigan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Tommie Horrell; and two brothers, Ralph Jernigan and Wayford Jernigan.
She is survived by her son, William Horrell of Florence, S.C.; son, David Horrell, and wife, Kathleen, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; daughter, Kathy Clark, and husband, Jeff, of Wilmington, N.C.; daughter, Vickie Horrell Mallard, and husband, Terry, of Gaffney, S.C.
Her greatest joy were her 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and her longtime extended church family.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Donald Smith Jr. and grandson, Brian Horrell, officiating.
Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
