SUPPLY — Joseph “Richmond” Galloway Sr., 82, was called home by his Heavenly Father on Nov. 5, 2016. He was born in Brunswick County, N.C., on January 8, 1934, to the late Vinton E. Galloway Sr. and Thelma Lennon Galloway. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother V.E. Galloway, Jr. and sister Ruth Galloway.
Mr. Galloway is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jeanette Smith Galloway. He is also survived by his two sons Joey (Kim) Galloway and Vin (Greta) Galloway, three granddaughters Kasey (Zack) McGougan, Taylor (Derrick) Thompson and Ashley Galloway, grandson Garrett Galloway, two great-grandsons Jax McGougan and Zeb McGougan, and a very special sister-in-law Dean (Jerry) Mason.
After his graduation from Shallotte High School in 1952, Mr. Galloway proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He worked for many years at ADM in Southport, N.C., and retired in 1994.
Mr. Galloway was the last surviving “charter” member of Supply Baptist Church. His greatest pleasures in life were spending time with his family and traveling to his cabin in the NC Mountains.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016 from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Supply Baptist Church. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Supply Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Rave officiating. Burial will follow at Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery.Casket bearers will be deacons of Supply Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund at Supply Baptist Church or to The American Heart Association.
