Maureen Catherine Harron Maus, 80, Eucharistic Minister at St. Stanislaus Church

Maureen Catherine Harron Maus, OFS, was called by the Lord, on Oct. 14, 2016, in Wilmington, N.C. at the age of 80. She passed peacefully at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She is survived by her daughters, Maureen T. Biessener and Jennifer M. Aro, MD, grandchildren Mirjana Teressa Aro, Meghan E. Aro, Liam J. Aro, and great grandchild, Kyrin A. Aro.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis M. Maus, DDS; siblings, Robert Harron and Carollee Arzente, her mother, Martha M. Wright, and her father Robert E. Harron.

Maureen was born on April 16, 1936 in Larksville (Luzerne County), PA. She graduated from Kingston High School in 1954.

Maureen had a full life. She enjoyed music, singing and dancing. She loved people and was genuinely generous with her time, prayers, and possessions. Maureen was professed into the Ordo Franciscanus Saecularis, on Jan. 29, 2015. She was a Sacristan and Eucharistic Minister at St. Stanislaus Church in Wilmington, N.C., regularly taking communion to homebound parishioners.

A funeral mass is scheduled at St. Stanislaus Church at 4849 Castle Hayne Rd (NC Hwy 117) in Castle Hayne, on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 11 am, with the Reverend Roger Malonda Nyimi presiding. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Maureen’s life. Maureen will be laid to rest at Pringle Hill Cemetery in Summerhill (Cambria County), Penn. with her parents and siblings.
