Lois FormyDuval Hewett, 90, with husband, owned Shady Park Exxon Station for 56 years

Lois FormyDuval Hewett, 90, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016, at her home in Shallotte, N.C., after an illness.

She was born Aug. 13, 1925, in Columbus County, N.C., the daughter of Major FormyDuval and Lou Pierce FormyDuval.

She and her husband, the late Dykes Hewett, owned and operated Shady Park Exxon Station for 56 years.

Surviving are her nephew, Bobby Ezzell (Rosanna) of Whiteville, N.C.; sisters-in-law, Carol Hewett of Clemmons, N.C., and Anna FormyDuval of Wilmington, N.C.; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Sue Pendergraft and Janet Thompson.

Funeral services, led by the Rev. Joe Needham and Dr. Dave Heller, will be at 3 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2016, at Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel, 5229 Ocean Highway W, Shallotte, N.C. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Lois will be laid to rest next to her husband in Brunswick Memorial Gardens. Casket bearers will be Jerry Ezzell, Al Milliken, Jamie Milliken, McRay Simmons, Derek Ezzell and Lee Ezzell.
