Terrence Thomas O’Rourke, 69, of Sunset Beach, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016, after an illness.
He was born in Rockville Centre, N.Y., on April 15, 1947, the son of Thomas Joseph O’Rourke and Irene Grace Muldoon O’Rourke. He was a retired detective with the Nassau County Police Department and served his country in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed painting landscapes and reading, especially history. He was a Yankees fan and enjoyed golf when he played well.
Surviving are his wife, Terri Schwartz O’Rourke; son, Michael Terrence O’Rourke of Blue Point, N.Y.; daughter, Dr. Corinne Marie Conroy (Pat) of Hingham, Mass.; stepsons, Brian Hughes (Dorothy) of Merrick, N.Y., and Chad Hughes (Melissa) of Seaford, N.Y.; and six grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at a later date in New York.
