Earl Dudley ‘Radar’ Blake, 74, licensed captain who enjoyed fishing

Earl Dudley ‘Radar’ Blake, 74, of Ocean Isle Beach and formerly of Greensboro, died Monday, May 16, 2016, at McLeod Seacoast Medical Center, Little River. Radar was born on March 16, 1942, in Guilford County, a son of Irene Coble Blake and the late Clarence Blake.

Mr. Blake was a Mason and a Shriner. He was a licensed captain and his passions involved fishing and woodworking.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judy Blake; three daughters, Amy Blake of Greensboro, Wendy Mills (Blaine) of Greensboro and Anita Moore (Kevin) of Calabash; three beloved grandchildren, Zachery Kinley, Sydney Mills and Levi Moore; and three brothers, Gary Blake (Lorene), of North Wilkesboro, Harold Blake (Judith) of Greensboro and Wayne Blake (Diane) of Little Elm, Texas.

A celebration of life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at the Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Joel Long officiating services. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
