Michael Piscitelli, 67, of Leland, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016. He was born April 28, 1949, in Bridgeport, Conn., to Angelo Piscitelli and Maria (Mendez) Piscitelli.
After serving his country in the U.S. Army, Michael joined Ironworkers Local 242, where he served on the executive board for a term. Michael and his coworkers often volunteered their skills while working on many community projects in southern Connecticut. After working for 35 years, Michael, and his wife, Ann, retired to Leland in 2006.
He became an active member of the homeowners’ association and served on the grounds committee for 10 years and also served as a director on the association’s board. Michael was always quick to lend a hand to help with a project for a Westport neighbor. He also was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Michael Piscitelli; and father, Angelo Piscitelli.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ann (Casciello) Piscitelli, who was the love of his life and best friend. His greatest joy were his children and grandchildren, Alexis, Cameron and Scott. He is also survived by his mother, Maria (Mendez) Piscitelli; son, Christopher, and his wife, Nicole, of Smyrna, Ga.; daughter; Carol Johnson of Kennesaw, Ga.; and two brothers, Gene Piscitelli of Fairfield, Conn., and Steven Piscitelli of Bridgeport, Conn.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1535 South 41st St., Wilmington.
The family requests memorial donations be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
