Frances S. Nemec, 94, loved playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren

Frances S. Nemec, 94, of Wilmington, died Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Atlanta, Ga., on October 23, 1921, the daughter of the late Edgar and Eva McGee Suttles. Also remembered is her husband, Herbert J. Nemec, who preceded her in death.

Formerly of Neptune, N.J., Mrs. Nemec worked with the Neptune High School cafeteria and was a member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church. After moving to Wilmington, she became a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, where she was also a member of the Stanton King Circle. She loved playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was involved in activities at the senior center.

Surviving are her son, Joe Nemec, and wife, Stacey, of Wilmington; two grandchildren, Joe Nemec, and wife, Carrie, and Christa Chapman, and husband, Jason; and four great-grandchildren, Trinity Chapman, Gavin Chapman, A.J. Nemec and Chynna Callahan.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, March 14, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. prior to the service. A private burial will be held in Monmouth Memorial Park Cemetery in Tinton Falls, N.J.

The family expresses appreciation for the love and kindness of Wesley Memorial UMC and the loving care shown by the staff at Autumn Care of Myrtle Grove.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church General Fund, 1401 S. College Road, Wilmington, NC 28403.
