Norman Edmund Mains Jr., 68, of Leland passed away Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016 at SECU Hospice House in Bolivia after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born March 18, 1947 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, the son of Norman Edmund Mains Sr. and the late Marie Mains.
Norman served his country proudly in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He later had a career with Westinghouse and Duke Energy as a technician. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be greatly missed by all.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Betty Mains; son, Jason Mains and wife Christy; twin daughters, Heather Mains and Corey Pitz and husband Ryan; six grandsons, Ryan, Brandon, Joshua, Caiden, Finn and Konrad; one granddaughter, Lucy; father, Norman E. Mains, Sr; two brothers, Tom Mains and Robert Mains; two sisters, Mary Beth Mains and Becky Mains and husband Randy; and numerous other loving family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23 at the Wilmington Funeral and Cremation Chapel on Village Road in Leland. The family will have a reception following the service.
