Robert “Billy” H. Horrell, Sr., 75, of Castle Hayne, died Monday, Nov. 23, 2015 surrounded by his family at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Wilmington on July 29, 1940, the son of the late Herbert H. and Katie Sue Stokes Horrell.
Billy was a truck driver for over 50 years. He owned and operated Horrell Trucking Company.
Surviving is his loving wife of 54 years, Brenda Kelley Horrell; a son, Robert Horrell, Jr. and wife Ginger; a daughter, Patricia H. Wiggins and husband Michael; a sister, Lila Branch; a brother, Lee R. Horrell and wife Barbara; four grandchildren, Cindy Spencer, Robert Horrell III, Ryan Michael Wiggins and Justin Robert Wiggins; one great- granddaughter, Savannah Spencer; and special friends, Paula and Ray Mills and Winfield H. Smith, Jr.
Also remembered are three brothers, Buddy Horrell, Huley Hicks Horrell and John William Horrell, all of who preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27 at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Castle Hayne Baptist Church, with the Revs. Bobby Mowery and Travis Horrell officiating. Burial will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.
