Rev. Leroy Evans, Jr., of Wilmington, died Thursday, May 22, 2014, due to complications from Agent Orange. He was 63.

He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. He retired from DuPont and began his ministry as a full-time pastor, serving as pastor at Seagate Pentecostal Church for 22 years. He was very much loved by his congregation and family.

He was born in Wilmington on July 22, 1950, to Leroy and Beth Evans. Remembered is his sister, Margaret Collins.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nancy Rouse Evans; daughter, Laura Camille Aderholdt (David); special son, Jeremy Evans; grandchildren, Hannah, Sarah and Olivia; two great-grandchildren, Kyra and Nixon; two brothers, Roy Lee Evans and Troy Lee Evans; two sisters, Sue Myers and Tinae Brower; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will see friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Living Word Full Gospel Fellowship Church, 440 Horn Rd., Wilmington. His burial will be at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville.
