George William Baughman, Jr., of Wrightsville Beach, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, in Wilmington. He was 87.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was born in Lewistown, Pa., son of the late George W. Baughman, Sr. and Mary Lavina Habershawn Baughman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Baughman.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, children, grandchildren and many other members of his family.
The family will receive family and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home, 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC 28403. The family invites all who knew Mr. Baughman to come visit with them and partake in heavy hors d’oeuvres that evening.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 26, 2014, at the Mausoleum of Oleander Memorial Gardens, 306 Bradley Drive, Wilmington, NC 28409 with military honors. The Rev. Hall of Pine Valley Baptist Church and Pastor Clark of the Church of Nazarene will be officiating. Entombment will follow the funeral service.
