Female stabbed during downtown altercation

WILMINGTON — Officers defused two fights that broke out in the early hours of Sunday, as bars closed in downtown Wilmington.

However, one altercation left a female injured.

According to Wilmington Police Department, law enforcement was monitoring crowds gathered in 0 block of Princess Street when a multi-person fight broke out. Officers broke up the incident, when close by another dispute occurred.

Law enforcement was able to disperse the altercation and upon investigating found a female was stabbed and taken to the hospital by a friend. Currently, she is in stable condition and law enforcement continue to investigate.
