WILMINGTON — Mannheim Steamroller Christmas will return to the Cape Fear Region in November to celebrate the holidays. Tickets are on sale as of Monday for Wilson Center members and open to the general public Friday.
Founder and creator Chip Davis celebrates 35 years on his annual Christmas concert tour, making it one of the longest running shows in entertainment history. The classic holiday hits will take to the Wilson Center stage Nov. 28 at 7:30 p.m.
“I remember when I came out with my first Christmas album in 1984, followed by our first tour,” Davis said in a press release. “Back then, many in the music industry said focusing on Christmas just wouldn’t work. We are still going strong. I want to thank our fans for making us part of their holiday tradition, especially after the hardships of the last few years. Today we often see multi-generational families join us during the holidays each year.”
This year’s show will feature classic Christmas hits from the Mannheim Steamroller holiday albums, along with multimedia effects. Davis will direct and co-produce tour performances with MagicSpace Entertainment.
Wilson Center members can purchase tickets, available now, and the public can begin to buy theirs at 10 a.m. Friday. Purchase tickets online or by contacting the box office at 910-362-7999 or visiting in-person at 703 N. 3rd St. Monday through Friday 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
According to the release, this is anticipated to be a full-capacity event.
