City to host career fair amid staffing shortages

WILMINGTON — The City of Wilmington is holding a career fair Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon in an effort to fill vacant positions.

The event will be at Legion Stadium, 2149 Carolina Beach Rd. Departments facing staffing shortages include community services and public services, in particular.

According to the city’s job site, there are 26 open positions including an associate transportation planner, buildings and facilities superintendent, facilities technician, grounds technician, auto and equipment mechanic, recycling and trash service operators and more.
