NCDOT to begin overnight work on Southport road

SOUTHPORT — The North Carolina Department of Transportation will have crews working overnight to resurface a road in Southport starting this weekend.

From 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., crews will work on Howe Street (N.C. 211) from May 1 through the 5, in effect closing a lane. Located between 12th and Bay streets, the road will be milled and resurfaced.

Drivers are advised to proceed with caution and slow down while traveling through the work zone.
