County hosts roundtable discussion and breakfast for small businesses

WILMINGTON — The county wants to get to know more small to mid-level business owners. To do so, it’s hosting a roundtable discussion and Small Business Breakfast next month.

On Wed. Apr. 13, 8 a.m. – 9:30 a.m., the breakfast will take place for businesses with up to 35 employees. The event is hosted by New Hanover County’s Office of Diversity and Equity and Office of Strategy.

Entrepreneurs will be able to communicate their needs, as well as find out how the county can help. The county is looking at revising its strategic plan to help improve economic development and wants feedback from the business communities, concerning their needs and wants.

The county has been able to provide grants, guidance, and employee training to support small businesses during the pandemic and other local natural disasters.

RSVP by emailing tjarreau@nhcgov.com no later than Apr. 8.

The free breakfast will be held at New Hanover County’s Old Historic Courthouse in the Commissioner’s Chambers on the third floor, located at 316 Princess St. Parking is open to all who attend at the 114 N. Second St. parking deck.
