Controlled burn to last two weeks in southern region of NHC

NEW HANOVER COUNTY – According to a county spokesperson, a controlled burn is taking place in the southern region of New Hanover.

The burn will be ongoing for two weeks in residential areas around the Whiskey Branch community, close to the Mohican Trail. The North Carolina Forestry permitted the company to enact controlled burns, and will monitor them and follow regulations appropriately.
