A Missouri company has recalled nearly 5,795 pounds of misbranded ready-to-eat beef stick products, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
Frickenschmidt Foods LLC labeled the product “gluten free,” though it contains and states the use of gluten.
Packaged on Nov. 30, 2021, Dec. 1, 2021, and Jan. 28, 2022, the recall contains 1.5-ounce individually sealed packages of “High Protein Snack Teriyaki Beef Wicked Cutz Beef Stick.” The product included the lot code 113022, 120122, or 012823, printed in blue ink on the back of the product package, with the recall establishment number “M33928.”
The problem was discovered by the distribution company; however, there are no confirmed reports of unusual reactions from the product consumption.
