NHSO detention officer faces criminal charges

NEW HANOVER COUNTY — A detention officer from the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office was arrested and received a $10,000 bond, according to a release from the Wilmington Police Department.

The WPD charged Q.A. James with two felony counts of secretly using a photographic device to view another’s body. 

James has worked for the NHSO office just over a year, starting Dec. 29, 2020. He was terminated and charged late Thursday.
