
KURE BEACH — A man in Kure Beach has been arrested in connection to a stabbing that took place Feb. 16.
Officials responded to a report around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday involving an assault and stabbing. When police officers arrived in the 100 block of Hanby Avenue, they found a male victim injured. He had a puncture wound to the chest and was treated by first responders and EMS on the scene before transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Officers arrested 37-year-old Gladwyn Taft Russ IV of Kure Beach and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
Russ is being held under a $40,000 secured bond at the New Hanover County Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
