NEW HANOVER COUNTY – Beginning Feb. 16, the public is able to get tested for Covid-19 for free at the New Hanover County Health and Human Services Pandemic Operations Center (1507 Greenfield St.). Testing will take place every Wednesday and Friday.

Wednesday testing will be available from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 9 a.m. – noon on Fridays. Rapid results take approximately 20 minutes, and those getting tested should wait on-site. No form of ID or health insurance are required. Tests will be given based on supply availability. Appointments can be made here.

Residents looking to get vaccinated or boosted for Covid-19 can sign-up at TakeMyShotNC.gov. Appointments are available:

  • Monday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Tuesday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Thursday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Friday, 1-5 p.m.

Cleanliness and sanitation are a priority of the Pandemic Operations Center, as each testing area will be cleaned and sanitized during and after both testing and vaccine distribution to protect the staff and community.
