Emergency water repair closes block of S. 10th Street

WILMINGTON — Cape Fear Public Utility Authority closed a block of South 10th Street near downtown Wilmington on Wednesday. Crews were repairing a water main leak.

Traffic is closed off to the 700 block of South 10th Street, between Queen and Wooster. Also closed is the right turn lane of Wooster onto South 10th and the streetside parking lots.

Only local traffic traffic will be allowed in the 700 block of South 10th Street from Queen Street only. Northbound traffic from South 10th will be blocked, and drivers will be able to detour around the closure by traveling on South 11th and 9th streets.

Drivers can detour around the closure using South 11th and South 9th streets.

CFPUA will inform customers if a precautionary boil water advisory be issued from the repair.
